Wheston Bank

Wheston Bank This is such a beautiful and peaceful part of Tideswell and so well kept, but still wild in a natural way. Recently I came equipped with some simple tools to tidy up a bit around the piece of stone that I have put along the stonewall in memory of my husband Tom White, whose ashes have been spread here. I was very delighted to find the grass nicely mown right up to “our” stone as well as to the others along the path. I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone whom it may concern for the care of this place.
Tom expressed his wish to have his ashes spread at Wheston Bank long ago and it is a great comfort to come back every now and then, especially when it is so well maintained.
I have been thoroughly infected by Tom’s fondness for the Peaks. He was often said to be a cosmopolitan, but (if you ask me) a very British one, and always a Tidza lad.

With greetings from Nykoping, Sweden
Barbara White
