Remember the sunshine and showers of Tideswell Wakes 2016? Whether you bought a programme, entered a competition, joined the carnival procession or just put money in a bucket, you helped Tideswell Wakes Festivities to continue its work of raising funds for local good causes in this 70th Anniversary year. Healthy finances mean we have once again been able to make donations totalling £800 which has been divided between The Billarettes, Tideswell Allotment Association, Tideswell Youth Club (new Building), Tideswell Sports Club and Tideswell Band. A donation towards the repair of Tideswell Church Clock has been returned (see article elsewhere in Village Voice explaining why!) and will be given to Tideswell After School Club instead.

Santa has confirmed his visit to Tideswell again on Christmas Eve and has taken time out of his very busy schedule to lead our parade down to the grotto as he enjoys it so much. The Parade will leave the George Inn at 5:00 pm but please feel free to come along to the Nativity Service in Tideswell Church at 4.00 pm or join us outside the George before to help us all get into the Christmas spirit. Gathering at around 4:30 pm. Santa’s grotto will be open at The Institute (behind Tideswell Church) from about 5:30 pm with refreshments and music from the band. Tickets cost £1.00 and are available from Tideswell Post office from December 1st. To help Santa ensure he has the the right presents we just need to make a note of your child’s age and gender when you buy your ticket. Don’t forget our wakes Christmas events

Flinty’s fun Christmas Bingo Sunday 18th December from 8:00 pm @ The George Inn
Wakes Quiz at the Star on Thursday 22 nd December from 9:00 pm £1.00 per person

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from TIdeswell Wakes Festivities committee.
