Following the mass resignation of six parish councillors including the chairman, the village is looking for six more people to fill the vacancies.
The remaining councillors serving on the Tideswell Parish Council are
  • Sue Barber  (Chairman)
  • Jennifer Bower
  • Mary Landon
  • Sue Willis
The Council has an establishment of ten councillors, and at the time of writing there are six vacancies.
Councillors work on a voluntary basis, meeting once  each month for a general meeting. They may represent the council on a variety of bodies and charities. It is a rewarding way of helping to influence the future of Tideswell. Anyone interested in becoming a councillor should put their name forward in writing in the first instance. Public spirited people are plentiful in Tideswell, as the various articles in Village Voice each month prove. Anyone who is over 21 years of age and living within Tideswell Parish is eligible.
There is a set procedure for electing or co-opting members, which will be adhered to strictly.
The Clerk is on long term sick leave, and if any residents have issues which need to be dealt with in the Clerk’s absence, please contact Sue Barber, Glen Eldon, Parke Rd, Tideswell, SK17 8NS – sooby@rocketmail.com
