Tideswell Community Garden

As you probably know, the garden, behind the Institute, next door to the Old Grammar School, provides, not only a lovely place to sit on a summer’s evening, but vegetables and herbs that are used by the very popular luncheon club, which is run by volunteers for the benefit of those in our community.

The garden is run by volunteers, and they are always looking for help, especially over the summer, for watering and gentle weeding. If you are able to help – even occasionally – please could you either leave a note in the greenhouse saying when you’re happy to turn up and water, or contact Judy Cooke on 872408.

And whilst we’re about it (this note has not been put in by Judy!), it is about time that immense thanks was expressed to Judy, who has worked so tirelessly (ably supported by Brian when he’s here) and now by new recruit Helen Grainger to ensure that the garden remains such a vibrant and delightful space. As with so much in the village – a huge amount of work, unseen and often unacknowledged, but appreciated and enjoyed by so many.

Thank you Judy.
