This month’s film
On Thursday 25th May Tideswell Cinema is showing ‘I, Daniel Blake’, at 7.30 p.m. in the George Inn. Voted Best British Film at the 2017 British Academy Awards, it is the moving and disturbing story of widower Daniel Blake who is forced to stop work in his late 50s due to heart disease. His life is thrown into further disarray when his benefits are suddenly taken away, and he has to jump through the many hoops of the bureaucratic system to get them back, meeting along the way single mother Katie and her two children, who faces similar problems. Directed by Ken Loach.
Guest members are welcome to come along (£4), and meals can be booked beforehand with the George (01298 872840).
