If you haven’t already booked your tickets for the Tideswell Arts Festival, now is the time to book them. The line up is as follows (note the addition of the first full FREE – thanks to the Bakewell Rotary Club – concert for some time from the Tideswell Band).

Saturday 20 September, 7.30pm, The Albion Choir (£10) – last seen for a great carol concert last year.

Sunday 21 September, 1pm, The Bailey Sisters (£5) – seen at this year’s Food Festival.

Sunday 21 September, 7.30pm, Quercus (£15) Featuring June Tabor; Welsh jazz pianist and composer Huw Warren; and English saxophonist Iain Ballamy. A love of words defines June Tabor’s identity as a singer, and those words may be drawn from any musical background. Twice winner of the title ‘Singer of the Year’ in the BBC Folk Awards (2004 & 2012), June’s transcendent singing has also been championed by many from outside the folk world.

Tuesday 23 September, 7.30pm, Tideswell Male Voice Choir (£5) – no introduction needed!

Wednesday 24 September, 6 pm, Chetham’s School of Music (£5) A varied programme of wind and brass ensemble music and solo piano repertoire.

Thursday 25 September, 7.30pm, The Ladybrook Singers (£5) A programme of mainly English music including Britten, Rutter, Elgar and Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Friday 26 September 7.30pm, Derby Cathedral Choir (£5) A concert of well-known choral pieces including Faure’s Requiem.

Saturday 27 September 12.30pm – Tideswell Band, a FREE concert – please come and support the band.

Saturday 27 September 7.30pm, Jacqui Dankworth (£15) Jacqui Dankworth is one of the most highly regarded vocalists in the UK. Peforming with just a piano accompaniment, this promises to be a fitting close to the Festival

There will also be an extensive educational programme and free Fringe events – visit www.tideswellfestival.co.uk for more details. Book tickets or sign up as a friend today, online or at Peak Volumes, next door to Tideswell Stores.

If you would like to help as front of house for the Tideswell Arts Festival, please leave your name and telephone number with Tim at Peak Volumes and someone will be in touch with you in the middle of September. Volunteers will be entitled to a free ticket to the concert of their choice (subject to availability).

Are you an artist? Do you want to display your work during the Festival? Please leave your name, some photographs of your work (paintings, sculpture, drawings, tapestry, needlework, pottery, etc) and a contact telephone number at Peak Volumes and someone will be in touch with you at the beginning of September.
