Taste Tideswell pt II

Since Taste Tideswell successfully won the Village SOS grant money and opened Tideswell School of Food (three years ago last December), there have been some notable achievements.

The growing popularity of the School as a place to come for high quality cookery courses and demonstrations culminating in the short slot on Countryfile at the beginning of December and the subsequent flurry of bookings from around the country; the fantastic Community Kitchen garden behind the Institute run by a keen band of volunteers who have turned this abandoned area into an absolute village gem; the annual Food Festival and the arrival of new shops in Tideswell and the support given to our existing traders in the village amongst many others.

There is still a long way to go however, and later this month, the next phase of the project will be launched.

The Community sub-group of Taste Tideswell will be holding it’s first meeting. Members will be drawn from individuals and existing groups across the village who all have an interest in seeing the community of Tideswell develop and flourish.

Taste Tideswell is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company and any profits we make are to be ploughed back the community. This sub-group will be the conduit for ideas and action.
