Here are the Surgery opening times for Christmas week and the New Year.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all everyone at Tideswell Surgery.

‘WEAR IT PINK’

At the surgery we held a Breast Cancer Awareness week in October in aid of raising money for the charity. We baked cakes, held a raffle and all the staff wore pink for the week. We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you for everyone who donated; we manage to raise a fantastic £570!

Hearing Tests

Did you know, you can now self-refer for a hearing test if you are over the age of 55. There are various places you can go to including Specsavers in Buxton or Chesterfield. We also have the number for a service that does home visits. If you are interested or want to self- refer please ring the surgery for the numbers.

Ear Syringing

If you require your ears syringing please can we remind patients you need to have put drops or olive oil in for at least 2 weeks. If not the nurse will not be able to remove the wax as it will not be soft enough. This will prevent a wasted journey for you in having to rebook.

Prescriptions

Just a quick reminder we need 2 WORKING DAYS (this does not include weekends) notice for prescriptions. This includes dispensing and chemist prescriptions.

Christmas season is coming up so please order your prescriptions early if needed so you don’t run out over the Christmas period!

Our next Patient Participation Group meeting is the 8th January 2018 at 4pm. Please come along, we are always wanting new members!

The PPG get together approximately every 6 weeks to discuss services and resources at the surgery and identify the needs of the patient population. The current topic is making the practice a Dementia Friendly Practice. If you would like to join the group you are welcome to come along and join us. Please contact Carol Lacey at the surgery for more information.

Keep us up to date!

If you update your mobile/home number, email address or home address please remember to inform us. We also have the service of sending text message reminders for booked appointments.

We also have system online which allows you to book appointment, order repeat prescriptions and cancel appointments.

We will be welcoming out new F2 doctor in December, Dr Alexander Courtier. He will be with us until April 2018.

Samples for Testing

If you are asked to bring a sample that needs sending off to the hospital for testing, please can you bring the sample in before 2pm, this is when the last collection for Chesterfield Royal Hospital. If the sample is brought in after it might need repeating.

Don’t miss out on the flu jab! We will be doing flu jabs until March. If you haven’t had yours yet and are entitled please ring the surgery to make an appointment!

Tell us your experience!

If you go onto our website: www.tideswellsurgery.co.uk there is a section with ‘I want great care’ please fill this in to tell us about the care you have received.

There is also the website www.cqc.org.uk/tellus

A warm welcome to Clare Martin our new Practice Nurse. She is joining Karen Ollerenshaw and Greta Bullock and working at both Tideswell Surgery and Bakewell Surgery.
