The November business meeting was well received. Members learned about the conference in Belfast which several ladies had attended. The Charity Christmas card shop was taking place at St John’s church, Buxton and the takings will be passed on to the various charities soon. Joint presidents Dianne Doughty and Judith Pickering also gave a report on the Midlands Regional meeting , during which our own Past President Elaine McDonald was installed as Region President Elect .

The Buxton Soroptimists meet at the Old Hall Hotel, Buxton twice a month and new members are always welcome.

Soroptimist means “the best of sisters” and the organisation exists for the betterment of women worldwide, and the improvement in human rights for all.

Along the way, we enjoy social events and fellowship with other like-minded women.

I am interested in joining you. I have moved to Chapel after retiring from being a Headteacher in Gloucestershire. I would like to continue to make a difference whilst making new friends.
