The last few months at Bishop Pursglove Primary School have been extremely busy as usual.

Pupils at the school are working as hard as ever in lessons and many children have been achieving ‘Gold’ as part of the School’s Going for Gold’ scheme and took part in a fabulous Cocktail Party at the end of term. The scheme encourages the children to think about their individual role within the school community and how the choices they make can help the people around them.

We have also celebrated World Book Day in school and the children and staff came dressed as their favourite book character. There were some lovely costumes including: Draco Malfoy (Harry Potter), Mr Strong (Mr Men) and even the Queen of Hearts (Alice in Wonderland). Photographs are on the school website.

Staff are pleased to announce that the School’s SIRR (School Improvement Review Record) was graded ‘Outstanding’. This is a tribute to all the hard work that governors, staff and pupils have put in to make the school an exciting, friendly and enjoyable place to learn.

We are currently working alongside our colleagues at Stoney Middleton School to implement the changes in the Government’s New National Curriculum, which is due to take effect in September 2014. This is an exciting time in school as children across Key Stage 1 and 2, in both schools, will get to learn about new intriguing topics!
