Poppy Tweats

As part of the County’s Poppy Appeal launch this year, the British legion plan to do a social media campaign on Twitter on the first day of the Poppy Appeal, Saturday 24th October. The idea is to send tweets throughout the day which feature a photograph of a relative or a friend of a service man or woman from Derbyshire who has passed away, holding a picture of the person they wish to Remember and a poppy using the hashtag #lestweforget .

The Legion in Derbyshire would like, as a minimum, to have 12 different people remembered so that I can send one tweet an hour but if we have more then that would be better. Hopefully it will be self-perpetuating and people on Twitter will post their own pictures and tributes. There is no restriction on which conflict the person served in or if they were killed in action or passed away later.

If you know of anyone that would like to take part please contact me.
