It’s been a while since there’s been a PCM in the Voice, but we’re pleased to announce that Tideswell has got a new, dynamic and approachable parish council.

After the majority of the old council resigned en masse, six new members have been co-opted and with another co-option after Sue Willis resigned for personal reasons, we are now up to full strength.

Your new council comprises Sue Barber (Chair), Pete Hawkins(VC), Jen Bower, Mary Landon, John Chapman, Dorothy Whitehouse, Rod Baraona, Russell Andrew, Charles Rising and Rob Puckett. If you have any matters of concern, please contact a councillor or, as our clerk is currently on long-term sick leave, email Sue on

Playground Tenders The council has recently replaced six worn-out swings and are now seeking tenders for the further refurbishment of the three play areas.

The council is also hoping to start some much needed maintenance work on the car park at Town Head and again will shortly be seeing tenders for the work. Please contact Sue if you’re interested in tender for either.

We will also soon be taking control of the public toilets in the village from the district council. We hope to issue a tender document shortly for their refurbishment and once done will be putting the cleaning contract out to tender. Watch this space for more details.

The council looks forward to serving you.
