Natwest Bank have announced they are closing in Tideswell on September 23rd.

The company has said the move has been prompted by a drop in transactions at the branches affected.

An agreement has been reached with the Post Office so customers can check their balance, deposit and withdraw funds and business customers can get coinage.

A mobile branch is to be be introduced in Tideswell and the company say the ATM will remain.

The Village Voice has asked for a statement about how they intend to support customers in the village in particular the elderly who may struggle with telephone or online banking but so far, apart from a few tweets from @NatWest_Help (whose strapline is ‘We’re listening and ready to help’, nothing has been received.
