Miller’s Dale WI

Miller’s Dale and District W. I. met at Litton Village Hall on Wednesday 12th. November for their annual meeting. The majority of the members were present; Judy, our President, welcomed everyone. The business meeting preceded the annual meeting.

Members were reminded that it is The NFWI Centenary in London at The Albert Hall in June 2015. They were also asked to support aid for The Chernobyl families either with donations or attending the coffee morning at St. Ann’s in Buxton. There are also carol services in Buxton and two in Chesterfield.

Judy then welcomed Ann McPhee (a Women’s Institute Adviser from Derby) to chair the annual meeting. The Financial Report was given and accepted. The Secretary’s report reminded us all of the interesting and really pleasant year we had all enjoyed.

The President’s address included ‘many thanks’ to everyone for their help, participation and support. The vote for the post of President was taken and Judy Cooper, unanimously, was voted into the post again.

The meeting concluded with tea, coffee and deserts provided by the committee plus, as always, lots of talks.

The next meeting will again take place at Litton Village Hall – on December 10th for our Christmas Party.
