BPS Sports Day

One of the highlights of the school calendar, Sports Day, took place on 22 June.

It was a great chance for all the children to try their hardest and to enjoy some friendly competition and rivalry between the different houses. There was a range of classic races for the children to compete in – sprints, egg & spoon, sack, skipping, dressing up, bean bag balancing plus throwing the ball. The grand finale was a challenging long distance race around the sports field that was open to all the children.

Congratulations to the children for all their efforts, both on the day and in the training they did beforehand. We certainly have some talented athletes to watch out for in the future. Longdon came out on top to win the cup with the narrowest of margins.

The event was really well supported by many parents and grandparents who were able to come and watch (and hats off to the few who were brave enough to take part in the parents’ races).

The staff (particularly Mr Harrison, who will be missed next year) and the Year 6 children did a great job preparing for and organising the day.

Well done to everyone, especially the children, for taking part.

School Governor
