At long last there is a hint of spring in the air. The snow drops are giving way to the daffs and there’s a hint that our trees haven’t forgotten how to make leaves. What a long cold winter it’s been. Talking to some of the village’s old-timers, there’s few who can remember one quite like it.

It did snow (briefly) on us at last year’s Food Festival but hopefully Tideswell’s third annual Food Festival will be bathed in wall-to-wall sunshine and be the perfect excuse for hundreds of visitors to call by and mix with the local throng of shoppers enjoying this fantastic event.
The smell of such a variety of food wafting the length and breadth of the village and the singing and dancing were the highlight of last year’s event for me as was the tasty meal we enjoyed that evening with the stuff we’d bought.
If you missed last year’s festival, you’re in for a treat.
