Fountain Square Church Update and Appeal

It’s been a few months since we last reported on how things are going at Fountain Square Church and we think it’s time for an update. As you probably know, we have exciting and ambitious plans to renovate and extend our building. Our current building is on several different levels and is unsuitable for the many different groups that use it. We want to create an accessible, 21st century building which is both an inspiring place of worship and a practical and well used facility for the people of Tideswell. The new buildings will include 2 multi-use halls, brand new kitchen facilities and toilets, loads of storage and a spectacular glass café-style central atrium.

Such a building project is expensive and, due partly to the expensive job of re-levelling the site, we expect the whole project to cost around £750,000. The United Reformed Church has been very generous and given us a large percentage of the money which was raised from the sale of the Parke Road Buildings, but we still have a lot to find. There are many organisations that are able to help us to make up the gap, but all of them require one important thing. This is where you come in! The grant providers want to see that our project has local support. We know that there is overwhelming support for our project, and everyone in Tideswell wants to see improved hall facilities, but the grant providers want to see local fundraising as proof that there is local support for the project. Now is the time for the people of Tideswell to show their support.

If you feel that you can support our new project by pledging to give an amount of money (small or large) please e-mail your pledge to Not only will your money go towards providing fantastic and vital facilities for Tideswell, but it will show your support and be multiplied many times over by large grant providers. We hope that you feel able to give and thank you so much for your support of any kind.
