Fairtrade Fortnight

Is it Fair?
We all have to shop, and more often than not we have no idea about where or how the products we buy are produced. But if an item carries the Fair Trade symbol, then we can know that those who have worked for us are being treated well and fairly. Each year there is a national FAIR TRADE FORTNIGHT to remind us of the importance of this, and it begins this month, on 26th, running till 11th March.
We are fortunate in Tideswell to have the Co-op, which stocks many fair trade items. There is also a Traidcraft stall in St John’s Church twice a month where fair trade goods are available – and Traidcraft always goes the extra mile in helping the producers, often amongst the most vulnerable in our world. If you are interested in what can be bought through Traidcraft. please contact Margaret Filer on 871681, or email mfiler@uwclub.net.
