A chance to tame dog owners comes to Tideswell with the arrival of Happy Houndz classes. Led by dog trainer Gerry Burton who’s been working with dogs, and their owners, for around 16 years, first in kennels and for the last 7 years in obedience training.

She run classes in Buxton and Macclesfield with a colleague but since moving to Little Hucklow last September has decided to set up on her own as well.
She is qualified in dog training theory and applied dog training, canine psychology and behaviour, and working with and rehabilitating rescue dogs. She’s a canine 1st Aider and a member of the Kennel Club Accredited Instructor Scheme (KCAI).
The class will be for anyone who would like a well mannered, happy dog who fits in with their lifestyle and is a pleasure to own. It’s a small informal class, not competition standard, but relaxed and fun. It’s open to any dog regardless of age, even if it’s just for a bit of socialisation for dog… and owner!
It will be a 6 week course of 1 hour per week on a Monday 2 ‘til 3pm starting April 15th. Anyone who would like to know more can contact Gerry on 01298 871210 or 07500 169185 or email her on
