Cressbrook’s Gala Week

The traditional annual event of well-dressing in our local villages begins at Cressbrook Church with petalling this years designs for the Wells from Monday 4th June until Friday 8th June. There will be three sessions every day, 10-12pm, 2-4pm and 6-8pm and experienced petallers are welcome to come and help and advise and non-experienced petallers are more than welcome to come and have a go and then bring friends and relatives to admire your work in Cressbrook during Gala Week.

Cressbrook Gala Day starts on Sunday 10th June at 2pm at Cressbrook Church and then onto the village green where the Wells will be blessed at 2.30pm. All afternoon there will be stalls with books, crafts, tombola, gifts, teas and fab homemade cakes, the bar in the club will be open and Cressbrook Band will entertain.

From 11th June – 15th June, Cressbrook Church be open from 10-4pm for teas and home-made cakes when you visit the wells in the village. Bring all your friends, relatives and any visitors – the cakes are wonderful as usual.Gala Week ends on Saturday 16th June.

The Cressbrook opens at 7.30pm for drinks and music from the band ‘Left Hand Drive’ and at dusk, the famous torchlight parade processes through the village led by Cressbrook Band. Bring your dancing shoes for dancing to music by ‘Left Hand Drive’ in The Cressbrook to celebrate another successful Gala Week and join in the fun with everyone in Cressbrook.
