Come & Sing again

Following the success of their first ever ‘Come and Sing’ day in March 2012, Tideswell singers will be hosting a day to ‘Come and Sing Through the Centuries’ in the beautiful Cathedral of the Peak in Tideswell on Saturday April 20th.

We have chosen works by Tallis, Purcell, Handel, Stainer, Elgar and Stanford from the rich heritage of English church music. Howard Goodall’s popular setting of Psalm 23 and a piece specially written for the occasion shows living composers are continuing this tradition.
There will be a concert performance by participants with guest musicians at 6pm for which audience tickets are available and there will be an opportunity for everyone to socialise after the performance with wine and cheese
We invite you to come and join us for what will be an enjoyable and uplifting day when we will practise and perform beautiful pieces representing every century from the early 1500s through to the present day.
This event welcomes singers of all levels of experience.  If you are not tempted to join the singing, why not come to the evening performance at 6pm?
You will be moved by the wonderful sound of massed voices and impressed by the high standard achieved.
