African Dance

On 28th February Zulu comes to the atmospheric setting of Tideswell Church.

Direct from Durban, South Africa, Zulu brings spectacular colourful African dance to the village. Staged in colourful authentic costumes, this energetic show includes traditional Zulu music, afro-jazz and traditional Zulu songs and psalms. The cast will also use various styles of traditional dance and dramatisation to bring their exciting history to Tideswell.
Powerful dance, pulsating Zulu drums and glorious vocal harmonies are guaranteed to hold the audience spellbound. Don’t miss this extraordinary and fascinating concert on your doorstep! Brought to the village by Tideswell Theatre through Live and Local, the Arts Council and local authority supported scheme to bring exciting shows to places like ours.

The Old Dance School in Tideswell
On 21st March The Old Dance School comes to Tideswell for one of only two Derbyshire dates on its national tour this spring. This is a great folk band, of which Radio 2’s Mike Harding has said “Stunning…full-on, full of life and verve.” Brought to the village through Tideswell Arts Festival.
