A date for all local fell runners is Saturday 13th May for the annual Cressbrook Fell Race. Started in 2005 this annual event has gone from strength to strength. As a Fell Runners Association registered event it attracts over 100 runners who enjoy the hilly terrain and friendly venue. The race starts at 10.45am from the War Memorial near the top of Cressbrook village – outside the community-run Cressbrook Club.

Entries are limited to 150 because of restricted parking in the valley and limited facilities at the Club, so pre-payment/registration (£6) is advised. Lunch is £3 and can be pre-paid or purchased on the day. Proceeds from the race help us to keep our community club running and also to support local charities. To pre-pay your entry go to www.fabian4.co.uk

The race is generously sponsored by Peak Ales so all runners and marshals receive a pint of the aptly named Swift Nick in the club bar after the race. Everyone is welcome to come and cheer the runners leaving and arriving back for their well earned pint.
